Who is “the Muralist”?

My name is Jeff McAvoy, and I have been painting murals professionally since 1998 under my company name, “The Muralist”. I studied Art at St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights, IL, under my most influential art teacher, Paul Gavac, and received my Bachelor of Science degree in Art History from Illinois State University.

I have lived in the Chicagoland area throughout my life, and have been married to my wonderful wife, Lisa, since 2001 (We actually met at a high school talent show in 1986!) Lisa and I were blessed with our wonderful son, Zach, in 2012. Our family is rounded out by our black cat “Kismet” and German Shepherd “Lego”.

My interests include playing the drums, collecting, refurbishing, trading and selling game used football helmets (mostly from the NFL AND NCAA), playing racquetball, and I’ve running Chicago-area marathons occasionally as well.!
